Art Studio
A gallery-first website for an independent art studio: exhibitions, works, and inquiries without a clunky CMS.
Art Studio — 2025The work needs room. Most artist templates fill the screen with chrome, thumbnails, and a mailing-list popup before anyone gets to the art.
We designed the site like a small monograph: generous margins, a strict type scale, and one work per view. The studio can publish an exhibition, add works, and update the archive without touching code. Inquiries come in with the work already attached.
The brief
The old site flattened the work into a grid and made every update a small project. The studio wanted to publish a show in an afternoon.
The approach
An image-led editorial system with a deliberately small CMS. Large plates, a clear archive, and a quiet inquiry path. The site gets out of the way of the work.
The outcome
A site that feels like the studio: quiet, considered, and easy to keep current.
